Writing for Hubpages
Sorry, it has been so long since my last blog update. I have been busting my tail at work, pretty much fighting to keep my job. With the economy being the way that it is, the bar of standards keeps getting raised higher, and now I think I am hitting my chin on it.
So, I have been writing my guts out on my new profile for Hubpages.com. So far I have completed 21 unique articles that cover everything from phone reviews to a wonderful story about my old band teacher. I won my first award, the coveted Hubnugget award. It is an award given to newbies who have written an exemplary article. Grand prize was a nice little icon on my profile page and a great @ mention of me and my article that was sent out to 10s of thousands of people. So, I guess you can say that I have been making a few waves.
The overall goal, though, is to build a trusted readership. I want to make connections with people who like my style of writing and are into what I am saying. When my readership gets big enough, by then I will have my newest co-authored novel, Zombies Don't Ride Motorcycles, published and I can unleash it on them and, fingers crossed, pray it goes viral. I have always wanted to make my living off of my writing and I finally see the potential to do just that. I know that it is going to take a lot of hard work and sleepless nights, but the way I figure it, I am doing that now at the restaurant I am managing. Writing is so much more fulfilling and I can always look back and see something to show for all of the hard work I have done. So, a big Thank-You goes to Hubpages for helping me make this happen and keeping me in the game.
Until next time.
